What is your style of photography?
I specialize in storytelling portraiture photography, also commonly called lifestyle portraiture/photography, with a splash of documentary photography. However, I like giving them a more dream-like, portraiture feel. I like capturing a child's natural smile in a photograph that you can frame or send to Gramma in a handmade card. I also like capturing a goofy face just as much! There are tender moments in sessions and hidden moments and silly moments and all types of different moments. Each of them tells a story as unique as you and your family. That's what I adore about photography... capturing those little breaths of your life... one click at a time.
What is storytelling photography?
Storytelling portraiture goes a step beyond simply showing you what life looked like at that time by also reminding you what it felt like. An artful portrait of a tired mother lying on the couch snuggled under a soft, pink blanket with her newborn resting peacefully on her chest as the afternoon sun dances on the carpet through small openings in the curtains... a child running through the daffodils on a cool, but bright, spring evening as the sun sets shyly in the background... or a family gathering around a freshly decorated birthday cake to celebrate another year of love. Those images show you what a day in their life looked like and evoke emotions, sounds, and even smells. They can transport you to a time and place that would otherwise be unreachable. This is why I invest my heart and soul into creating images your family will cherish for today and for always.
Do you have a studio?
No, I do not. I am an on-location (i.e., your home, event venue, etc...) and outdoor photographer.
What should I wear?
Since we're focusing on telling you and your family's life story, wear whatever your little heart says. If you need styling, please contact me, and I'll be glad to assist!
Can I have the unedited/RAW versions of the photographs from my session?
I take many photographs during a single session. Not every one of them is usable for several reasons. I often take multiple shots of one pose to ensure that I get a good, clean image. This creates a lot of duplicates or very similar images. Other times, angles do not work as planned, or the image is a test fire before I take the "real" photograph. I sort through the images and select the best ones that flatter you and accurately display my artistic vision. I carefully polish each photograph to bring out your best attributes with each artistic decision. Due to these reasons, I do not release the RAW/original/unedited images. As your photographer, I take great pride in presenting you with only my best work.
When is payment due?
All session fees are due no later than the day before your session. Session prices vary and are subject to change. Session fees do not include the cost of any prints ordered through me nor the cost of any books/USBs ordered; those are extra costs outside of the session fee. Payment is due at the time of ordering those additional items.
Do you offer financing?
Yes! I offer Afterpay through my online invoices! Please visit their website for additional information.
What is a 'session fee'?
The session fee covers the photographer's time, expertise, and creative vision, as well as the post-work (like editing).
What comes with my session?
Every session receives digital downloads of full-resolution images and a print release. (USB drives are also available at an additional charge.) Full-resolution images are downloaded from an online, password-protected gallery where you can view and share your final images.
My session comes with more than one location. How far apart can those locations be?
For my larger sessions that offer more than one location, those locations need to be fifteen minutes or less apart. For further distances, travel fees may apply.
Can I order prints from you instead of printing them myself?
Absolutely! I'd love to help you create a customized package that's just right for you! Or you can shop privately from your couch at home!
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, I do! I can accept credit both in person and online.
Will you travel to me for my session if I live outside your area?
Yes! My "home area" is anywhere within 25 miles of Ironton, OH (45638). For anything 26 miles and beyond, please reference the chart below for the travel fee. The travel fee is in addition to your session fee and is due no later than the day before your scheduled session day.

What happens if I can't make my scheduled session?
Life happens, so I understand that scheduled sessions may need to be rescheduled sometimes. No worries! If possible, I ask for 24-hour notice but don’t worry if that’s simply not an option. Any deposits paid on your session will not be reimbursed; however, they can be applied toward your rescheduled session. Any monies paid in addition to your deposit will be forwarded as session credit.
What happens after my session?
Approximately 2 weeks after your session, you can view your images in a password-protected online gallery. After viewing your images, you have unlimited time to order/re-order prints or USB drives. Orders take approximately 7-10 business days to receive and deliver. Your online gallery remains open for three months from the day of your session. If you need it reinstated after it has been deleted, a $25 storage fee applies for an additional three months.
What if I want to have my digital images printed at my chosen place?
Not a problem! When your gallery is delivered, I will also send you a digital print release so you can take it to the photo lab of your choice. Please remember that watermarked images cannot be printed at any location with or without a print release.
